HELLO, SEPTEMBER!
Good news is not always a finished happy ending. Sometimes it is a careful first step, a new team, or a question worth exploring. This month, meet nature's helpers in Panama and around the world. We say what happened—and what people still hope will happen.

Darién, Panama
Reported August 23, 2026
Nesting leatherback turtles have been recorded again on Panama's Pacific coast.
Big sea turtles made nests in Darién. Helpers found three nesting events. They moved 178 eggs to a protected nursery. Now the team is waiting. The babies are expected in September and October. They have not hatched yet in this report.

02 / MAKE + PLAY
You need paper, crayons, and a trusted grown-up. No wildlife handling, outdoor collecting, or special equipment.
Look at a stuffed animal for one minute. Hide it behind your back. Draw what you remember, then check. Circle one new detail.
Draw dots on paper. Ask a grown-up to cut two paper frames, one small and one large. Count the dots each frame shows. What changed?
On paper, draw a nesting beach with space for turtles. Add a sign asking people to stay back and keep lights away. Never test this near real nests.
Each person draws one way to care for nature. Join ideas with lines. Choose a simple home action together, such as using the other side of scrap paper.

All missions can stay indoors. A grown-up handles scissors. Never touch, feed, collect, or move wild animals, eggs, nests, or coral. Do not approach rivers, shorelines, or unfamiliar places for an activity. Follow local closures and weather advice if your family later visits a park.
Children do not need an account or have to share anything. Keep names, schools, locations, faces, and contact details private. Instagram is a contact channel for adults only. Conservation is adults' responsibility; children are invited to wonder, learn, and create—not to solve it alone.
